Takeoffs from CAD and PDF files

You may already know that Trimble Business Center (TBC) allows you to perform fast, accurate takeoffs from pdf files. But did you know that using both CAD and PDF files allows you to be even more accurate?

The video below from Trimble Civil Engineering and Construction explains how you can. It shows how to quickly produce takeoffs from CAD and PDF files in Trimble Business Center – HCE.

Scottish Wetlands Project Streamlined

gdl-250x150With the aim of treating heavily polluted stormwater from two overflow streams, the Cowdenbeath Wetlands Project was created in 2013. Ground Developments Ltd (GDL) was hired to carry out specialist geotechnical and remediation work for the project.

The project included evolving a remediation scheme and constructing technically challenging geotechnical solutions for the wetland treatment facility. As part of the design, the surrounding wetlands area was to be transformed into an ecosystem.

GDL chose the Trimble Business Center – HCE software to effectively manage, analyse and process the construction data. Which it has done. GDL estimate they have saved one day per week using the Data Prep model to identify errors and keep pace with design changes. Plus a 10% boost in profit margin due to gains in accuracy and production.

GDL will be presenting at Trimble Dimensions in November.
